BSc (Hons), Dip CBH, GQHP, GHR Reg – Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, Cork
My name is Siobhan and I am a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist based in East Cork. I wanted to share a little about me, my career history and what lead me to follow my passion and become a hypnotherapist.
After I completed my degree in Psychology, I started my career in the area of recruitment. I spent 10 years working in the corporate world, supporting organisations in hiring great talent. I know first-hand the pressures of a fast-paced and stressful work environment, and the challenges of maintaining a healthy work/life balance. While I was very fortunate to have worked in some great organisations, I always knew that I wanted to help people in a more meaningful way.
One thing I learnt throughout my career, was the huge role that personal confidence and self-belief play in becoming successful. When you believe in yourself and your own capabilities, you make things happen. That’s what I love about what I do – I help my clients to increase their self-belief.
My passion for hypnotherapy started in 2010 when I gave up smoking through hypnosis. It was a life-changing experience, as I really felt I had tried everything else. Years later and I still don’t smoke; it was definitely one of the best things I ever did!
There are many different approaches to hypnotherapy. From the beginning of my training, I wanted to ensure that the techniques I use are evidence-based. All of the tools and techniques I use are firmly grounded in evidence (e.g. research studies, randomised control trials etc.). I love being able to help my clients, empowering them to make the changes that they want in their lives and becoming the very best versions of themselves.
