Siobhán Gilmore – Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, Cork
BSc (Hons), Dip CBH, GQHP, GHR Reg, M.Ps.S.I
I’m Siobhán, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist based in East Cork. I currently work with clients online, offering a flexible and effective way to access hypnotherapy from the comfort of your own home. Below, I’ve shared a little about my background and what led me to this work.
I studied Psychology at the University of Manchester, where I discovered a genuine passion for understanding human behaviour and wellbeing. I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree, but despite knowing I wanted a career connected to psychology, life initially took me in a different direction. I spent over a decade working as a recruiter in the corporate world, hiring top talent under tight deadlines. That experience gave me first-hand insight into the pressures of fast-paced environments, the challenges of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and the toll that stress can take on confidence and wellbeing.
Although I enjoyed aspects of recruitment, I always felt drawn back to work that allowed me to help people in a deeper, more meaningful way. One thing that stood out throughout my career was how strongly confidence and self-belief influence success. When people believe in themselves, they take action, make decisions that align with their values, and create real change.
That understanding ultimately led me to hypnotherapy. Today, I help clients build the confidence, clarity, and inner resources they need to move forward. Alongside this work, I am also a trainee coaching psychologist and am completing an MSc in Coaching Psychology with the University of Leicester. This training further strengthens my ability to support clients through evidence‑based approaches to behaviour change, mindset, and personal development.
I now genuinely love what I do because I get to help people reconnect with their strengths, trust themselves, and achieve the goals that matter most to them.
