Anxiety can take many forms and a certain amount of worry or anxiety is normal. It’s natural to worry a little about a job interview or a first date. When worry becomes excessive and uncontrollable, then it does require some help. When anxiety becomes overwhelming it can prevent you from doing the things you enjoy, and usually gets worse over time.

Living with anxiety is exhausting and it can have detrimental effects on every aspect of your life. The good news is that cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy can help you to overcome anxiety, helping you feel calmer and happier. Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is very effective in treating mild to moderate levels of anxiety. Additionally, there is a significant amount of research demonstrating that hypnosis combined with CBT is one of the most effective ways to treat anxiety.

If you decide to work with me, we would begin by developing a shared understanding of the problem. Therefore, we would identify any unhelpful thoughts/beliefs and behaviours responsible for maintaining the issue. Then once we know what is maintaining it, we can work to change it. That’s where hypnosis really comes in. We will use hypnosis to practise and rehearse these new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

You will learn different coping skills and relaxation techniques to help you now and in the future. I also teach self-hypnosis as this has been shown to effectively help manage stress and anxiety.
