Anxiety can take many forms and a certain amount of worry or anxiety is normal. It’s natural to worry a little about an upcoming job interview or a first date. When worry becomes excessive, persistent and uncontrollable, then it does require some help. When anxiety becomes overwhelming it can begin to hold you back from doing things which you might otherwise enjoy, and it has a tendency to become worse over time.

Living with anxiety is exhausting and it can have detrimental effects on every aspect of your life. The good news is that cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy can help you to overcome anxiety, so that you can begin to feel calmer and happier. Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is very effective in treating mild to moderate levels of anxiety. There is a significant amount of research to demonstrate that hypnosis combined with CBT is one of the most effective ways to treat anxiety (Kirsch et al, 1995; Holdevici et al, 2013; Valentine et al, 2019; Ramondo et al, 2021).

If you decide to work with me, we would begin with a thorough initial consultation to get a deep understanding of what is going on for you. We would then work on trying to change any unhelpful thoughts or beliefs by replacing them with more positive ones, which will be reinforced with hypnosis. We will also establish what behaviours are maintaining the issue, and identify new behaviours to reverse this effect. This will involve some work in between sessions and you will also practise and rehearse these new behaviours in hypnosis.

I will teach you different coping skills and relaxation techniques that you will be able to take away with you, and use for the rest of your life. I will also teach you how to hypnotise yourself, as self-hypnosis has been proven to be very effective in managing stress and anxiety (Eason & Parris, 2019). The typical number of sessions could be anywhere from 3-6, however, depending on your specific issue it may take less or more. Are you ready to overcome anxiety and start feeling happier?
