Overcome anxiety and phobias with online cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy
As a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist, I have worked with many clients to successfully help them overcome anxiety and phobias. My approach combines hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). There is a large amount of research to demonstrate that cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is one of the most effective ways to overcome anxiety and phobias. Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is a short-term therapy (usually requiring only 3-6 sessions). Importantly, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy usually produces much more rapid results than traditional therapy.
How will Online Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Phobias work?
The first online hypnotherapy session is slightly longer (1.5 hours) and would focus on us developing a shared understanding of the problem. We will start to uncover what is responsible for maintaining your anxiety or phobia, i.e. the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are fuelling it. This allows us to begin to work out what needs to happen to allow you to move forward and break free.
The last 30-40 minutes of the first session is in hypnosis. Hypnosis is a very effective tool for promoting relaxation and changing the way you think. When we feel anxious or stressed, our minds are usually consumed with a lot of negative thoughts. This negative self talk is what cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy aims to help you change.
All subsequent online hypnotherapy sessions would involve a mix of hypnosis and CBT techniques. Usually the last half of the session is in hypnosis. Across the sessions, you will learn different coping skills and relaxation techniques to help you break free from your anxiety or phobia. In between sessions, there is always some “work” to do. This usually always involves listening to a recording, but can also include different activities designed to help you gain awareness and challenge yourself.
